In recent years, new experimental and numerical tools have allowed unprecedented access to the study of complex quantum system dynamics. The still unresolved quest for the Holy Grail of quantum information science, the development of an universal quantum computer, has driven the development of different quantum hardware, theoretical models and numerical tools that can be used as quantum simulators. A new era -predicted by Feynmann thirty years ago- has begun and is already giving exciting results. Nevertheless every quantum simulation requires the efforts of different expertise that has to be merged: from the theoretical and experimental knowledge about the quantum simulator to the theoretical understanding of the system to be simulated. It is then important that experts from different perspectives talk together, exchange ideas providing open problems to be attacked and possible platforms where questions can be answered. This exploratory workshop wants to be a step in that direction.
