The conference organization will provide buses from the airports of Alicante and San Javier (Murcia) to Cartagena at the start and the end of the conference.

HOW TO GET TO CARTAGENA

The best way to access Cartagena is by flying to one of the two closest airports: Murcia – San Javier (MJV) and Alicante – El Altet (ALC).

Below you will find more information on the airports:

MURCIA-SAN JAVIER AIRPORT

Murcia-San Javier Airport is a small airport about 20 minutes by car from Cartagena, with regular flights from Madrid and Barcelona, and some cities across Europe.

You can get to Cartagena from the Alicante Airport either:

By TAXI: this is the easiest way to get from the airport to Cartagena, and we can arrange one for you for only 100€. Just let us know the day and time you will be arriving and we will take care of the rest.

By BUS: also very easy and significantly cheaper, but it takes some more time. If you wish to take this option, all you need to do is follow the signs you will find at the airport and get on the bus to Murcia (schedules here: http://www.alsa.es/en).

Once in the Murcia bus station, you will need to take another bus to Cartagena (schedules here: http://www.lycar.es).

If you have the time, we strongly recommend you to have a walk around the center of Murcia and visit the Cathedral. Really worth seeing!

By TRAIN: if you prefer taking the train, all you have to do is take a bus from the airport to the train station in Alicante, and once there hop in the next train to Cartagena.
Alternatively, you may also take a train to Murcia and then transfer to a train to Cartagena.

You can find the schedules right here: http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/index.html

As you walk out of the Bus Station, you will see a big roundabout. The bus stop is on the other side of the road (see map)

If you are staying at the Best Western Alfonso XIII, you should take bus nº 7, which will drop you a few meters away from the hotel across the road (see map).

If you are staying at the NH Cartagena, you need to take bus nº 8 (it’s a small bus), which will drop you a few meters away from the hotel, next to our City Hall (see map).
